Rocks really Rock

Displaying rocks in the classroom allows children to discover and explore the power of rocks. Rocks are so interesting and children are drawn to their characteristics, this brings so many teachable moments to the classroom. As children ask questions about the colors, textures, and where this rock came from it gives the adults wonderful opportunities to expand vocabulary, scientific thinking, speaking and listening skills, and cognitive development.
